Dining

It is no surprise that fresh seafood is the favorite dish on North Captiva Island with the island's fabulous location between the Gulf of Mexico on one coast and the beautiful bay waters of Pine Island Sound on the other. The Island features a few unique dining and shopping venues for those times when you feel like leaving the house.

Barnacle's Waterfront Dining

Barnacle's Waterfront Dining is a unique island staple offering very casual indoor and outdoor dining. Select from fresh fish, black beans and yellow rice, shrimp, chicken, burgers, fish tacos and salads. The remodeled upstairs features a gift shop and ice cream shop that also serves cappuccino, espresso, malts and sodas.

Barnacle's is located near the airstrip and is a favorite with fishermen and day-trippers to the island. Be sure to walk out on the docks and look for Florida otters playing nearby or manatees hanging out in the warm shallow water canals. There is also sand volleyball, cornhole, basketball, and free fishing from the pier for kids. Lunch and dinner hours vary by season and are posted outside the restaurant. The Boathouse Restaurant

The Boathouse Restaurant at North Captiva Island Club is the place for fine dining on the Island. The restaurant overlooks the channel and days of operation vary by season. Enjoy seafood, steaks along with weekly specials. Reservations are a must. To see the menu and reserve, click here..

North Captiva Island Club

North Captiva Island Club also offers casual poolside dining and cocktails at the Pool Bar. Open daily for lunch and dinner service. The same kitchen also serves Mango's Convenience Store next to the Island Club. They offer a limited menu for take out or terrace dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Over the Waterfront

Over the Waterfront, in Safety Harbor, sits on a dock with an incredible view of the bay. The menu changes each season to incorporate locally grown produce and features a variety of items such as fresh fish, steak, pork chicken and pasta. The menu is reasonably priced by island standards. Currently this venue is available to non-members of Safety Harbor Club when space is available and allows you to bring your own alcoholic beverages. Call (239) 472-4762, to see if there is availability during your stay on the island.
